Two windows a day is the right way to run a happy hour. Whiskey Cake in Round Rock does its Social Hour Monday through Friday from 3 to 6pm, then again from 9 to 11pm: $7 signature cocktails and wines, $5 select draft beer, and a $7 bar bites list with grit fritters, pork rinds, kettle chips, a mini local board, and Wagyu corn dogs.
Seven dollars for a proper signature cocktail is the anchor here. The whiskey program is the house specialty, and the social hour list pulls real drinks off it rather than watered-down versions. The Wagyu corn dogs are the bite people come back for, and at $7 they pair with a second round without guilt.
The late window is the sleeper. Round Rock does not have many 9pm happy hours, and this one makes Whiskey Cake the default nightcap stop north of Austin. The crowd runs suburban after-work early and date-night late. Same prices both windows, so pick the version of the evening you want.
