Happy Hour Austin is a free directory of happy hour specials. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have. By using the site, you agree to this policy.

What we collect

• How you use the site: the pages you view, the links and features you use (for example, Directions), the words you type into search boxes, the site that referred you, and basic device and browser information. We use cookies and similar technologies to do this, including a random ID for your browser.
• Location: only if you allow it in your browser. "Near me" uses it on your device to sort bars by distance. When you use Meet with Friends, the locations you enter are sent to our server and to mapping services to find a meeting point.
• Account information: if you create an account, your username, email address and password (stored in hashed form), or the name and email address Google shares if you sign in with Google, plus the favorites and reviews you add. Your username and reviews are shown publicly.
• Things you send us: what you enter in forms such as Suggest an update, Report an issue, the contact form and feature voting.
• Your email choices: whether you have signed up for email updates from us, and whether you have agreed to receive offers from our partners.
• Logs: like any website, our servers and hosting provider keep logs of requests and errors, which can include your IP address and, occasionally, something you typed.

How we use it

• To run, secure and improve the site, including preventing spam and abuse.
• To keep listings accurate and to reply when you contact us.
• To send you news, updates and offers from us, if you sign up for them.
• To understand how the site is used, for example which listings help people choose a place. We may share totals that do not identify you with the bars we list.
• To show advertising, now or in the future, which may be based on how you use the site.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, except that if you choose to receive offers from our partners, we share your contact details with them as described below. We share information with:

• service providers that help run the site, such as hosting, maps, email, spam protection and sign-in with Google;
• analytics providers, such as Google Analytics, which may set their own cookies (see Google's Privacy Policy);
• advertising partners, if we show ads;
• partners whose offers you have agreed to receive: only if you opt in, we may share your name and email address with them so they can send you offers. Once shared, their own privacy policies apply;
• others when the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or if the site is sold or merged.

Bar listings link to other websites and apps, such as a bar's own site, menus, reservations and Google or Apple Maps. Their privacy practices are their own.

Cookies

We and our partners use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, protect forms, remember your settings, measure how the site is used and, if we show ads, for advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; signing in and some features may then not work. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out add-on.

How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, then delete it or keep it only in a form that does not identify you. Account information is kept until you ask us to delete your account.

Your choices

• You can use the site without an account.
• You can turn off location access in your browser at any time.
• You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time with the link in any email we send. You can also withdraw your agreement to partner offers at any time by contacting us; we will stop sharing your details from then on. To stop emails from a partner who already has them, use the unsubscribe link in that partner's emails.
• To see, correct or delete information about you, including your account, contact us.

Children

The site is meant for adults of legal drinking age. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, such as HTTPS and hashed passwords, but no system is perfectly secure.

Changes

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page.
