Monday through Friday from 4:30 to 6, the menu opens up with $6 zucchini katsu, $7.50 chicken karaage, and sushi rolls starting at $6. The $8 prime dry aged maki at happy hour prices is almost suspicious. Cocktails run $9 across the board.
The space is bright and a little loud, with colorful walls and an energy that matches the cooking. This is not a quiet omakase situation. It's fast, fun, and the kitchen clearly knows what it's doing with both traditional technique and playful presentation.
Lucky Robot happy hour is one of the better kept secrets on South Congress, especially if you're into Japanese food that goes beyond the standard sushi bar formula. Get there early on Fridays or you're eating at the bar. Which, honestly, is not the worst seat in the house.
