South Congress has gotten expensive, but Güero's still prices its happy hour like it remembers what the street used to feel like. Monday through Friday, 3 to 6, classic margaritas hit $5.75, signature margaritas land at $2.25, and imported and domestic beers each drop a dollar. On the food side, queso, nachos, and tacos al pastor all come down $1.
The $2.25 signature margaritas are the standout. At that price, you can afford to try two or three flavors without worrying about the bill. The queso is the classic move to pair with them, and $1 off makes it basically an afterthought to add to the order.
Güero's happy hour is pure South Congress energy. The patio is the play when weather cooperates, and it usually does. The crowd is a mix of tourists who found the right spot and locals who've been coming for years. The place has been around long enough that the staff moves with a rhythm you don't get at newer spots. It's simple, it's consistent, and the margaritas are cold.
