The basement entrance on West 6th sets the tone before you even sit down. Devil May Care leans into the moody underground thing: dim lighting, DJs on weekends, cocktails that take themselves seriously. The happy hour cuts the cost of all that atmosphere in half.
Tuesday through Saturday, 5 to 6:30pm, featured cocktails, bottles of wine, and the mezze menu all go half off. That's the entire structure, and it's a strong one. Order a bottle at half price, load the table with hummus and grilled skewers, and you've covered dinner for the price of a couple drinks anywhere else on 6th.
Get there at opening. The 90-minute window moves fast, and the kitchen closes at 10 if you settle in for the night. Devil May Care happy hour works best as the front half of a full evening; the DJ sets and 2am closing time Thursday through Saturday handle the back half. Two things to know before you descend: upscale dress code, 21 and up.
