The basement entrance on West 6th sets the tone before you even sit down. Devil May Care leans into the moody underground thing. Dim lighting, loud music on weekends, cocktails that take themselves seriously. But the happy hour deals are surprisingly approachable for a place with this much atmosphere.
Wednesday is the night to know about. From 5 to 9, you're looking at $2 East Coast oysters, $10 draft margaritas and old fashioneds, half off all bottles of wine, and a $12 harissa truffle burger with fries. The mezze is half off too. That's a legitimate dinner for the price of a couple apps anywhere else on 6th.
Thursday through Saturday, the window tightens to 5 until 6:30, but half-off espresso martinis on Thursdays have turned into their own thing. Tuesday nights run an all-night social with extended drink specials.
Devil May Care happy hour works best when you treat it like a full evening rather than a quick stop. Get there for the $2 oysters on Wednesday, order a bottle at half price, and let the DJ set carry you through.
